Meet Jeanne Duke – A Life of Ministry and Leadership
I’m Jeanne Duke, an ordained minister in the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) and a retired attorney. My call to ministry began in May 1987, and over the years, I’ve served in several interim roles, including Assistant Regional Minister in the Southwest Region. One of my most meaningful projects was helping three Disciples regions and an affinity convention come together to form a new regional entity, which deepened my respect for clergy and lay leadership.
Even while practicing law, I remained active in church leadership, serving as Finance Chair and later Chair of the Board at a large and complex congregation. I helped lead reviews of key policies such as finance, child protection, and personnel. Working within teams, we focused on clarity, compassion, and accountability.
But beyond titles and tasks, I’ve always cherished congregational life, such as the rhythms of worship, the joy of teaching, and the strength of community. I’ve taught Sunday School for children and adults. For over 20 years, I served as the beloved Time Keeper for our Boar’s Head & Yule Log Festival, a role that kept the pageant moving and my heart full.

My Unique Perspective on Ministry Challenges
I know what it’s like to lead through stress and change from supporting churches in transition to revising policies that impact entire congregations. I’ve experienced ministry from multiple angles: as a minister, as a lay leader, and as someone helping churches navigate legal and ethical challenges. This combination of faith, leadership, and legal expertise allows me to provide coaching that is both practical and spiritually grounded.
